Steps
- Clean the chicken pieces (thighs and wings), removing excess fat. For thighs, remove as much of the beige-colored fat as possible while leaving some on.
- Place the cleaned chicken in a bowl and sprinkle with salt to let it sit for a little while.
- In a measuring cup or bowl, combine all seasonings: seasoning salt, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, parsley flakes, and Italian seasoning. Stir well.
- Add butter/margarine, chicken stock/broth, and apple cider vinegar to the seasoned mixture.
- Microwave this mixture for about 40 seconds until the butter is melted.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Place the chicken in a baking pan. Brush or massage the melted butter/vinegar/broth solution over the chicken, ensuring it is saturated and flavorful.
- Season the chicken thoroughly with the prepared seasoning mixture.
- Turn the chicken pieces over so that they are under the skin (especially for wings), tucking the tips of the wings under the thighs to prevent burning.
- Pour any remaining liquid from the bowl into the baking pan.
- Baste the chicken a few times during cooking, about two or three times. After the first hour, drain most of the juice from the pan and put it back in the oven.
- Continue cooking for another 20 to 30 minutes until the chicken is done.
