Slow Cooker Korean Beef

- 1/2 Red onion
- 1 cup Soy sauce
- 1 1/2 cups Brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups Beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Garlic
- 1 tablespoon Gochujang (Korean fermented paste)
- 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon Sambal elite (spicy garlic mix)

Steps
- Chop up half a red onion.
- Add the soy sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, garlic, gochujang, sesame oil, and sambal elite to the slow cooker.
- Place the chopped red onion into the slow cooker with the other ingredients.
- Chunk up the beef into roughly 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch cubes (trim any excess fat).
- Place the cubed beef into a Ziploc bag and add 1/4 cup of corn starch. Shake and toss until the beef is coated.
- Seal the bag, leaving some air in it for movement, and shake to coat the beef thoroughly.
- Add the seasoned beef from the bag into the slow cooker with the sauce.
- Cook on low for 6 or 7 hours.
- If the sauce is too thin, create a slurry by mixing 2-3 tablespoons of cornstarch with 3-4 tablespoons of cold water. Add this slurry to the sauce and stir until thickened.
- Garnish with slivers of green onion (scallions), sesame seeds, and chili flakes if desired.
