  • 3 to 4 spoons fulls (for cooking) Olive oil
  • 3 to 4 spoons fulls Tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Pepper paste
  • To taste Sliced garlic
  • To taste Ground cumin
  • To taste Black pepper
  • To taste Pulbear (or chili flakes)
  • To garnish Crushed walnuts
  • To garnish Dried thyme

Steps

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan.
  2. Add three to four spoons fulls of tomato paste and one tablespoon pepper paste.
  3. Cook them slowly until they darken in color and the oil begins to shimmer (this step builds flavor).
  4. Stir in sliced garlic.
  5. Add ground cumin, some black pepper, and pulbear (especially if your pepper paste isn't spicy).
  6. Finish it off with crushed walnuts and a sprinkle of dried thyme.
  7. Let the mixture cool until thick, rich, and slightly nutty.
