Steps
- Let the chicken breasts come to room temperature for about 15 minutes before cooking.
- Try to get all of your chicken breasts about the same size. If necessary, gently pound the thicker part between two pieces of plastic wrap and use a mallet to lightly pound it for more even thickness.
- Mix one teaspoon of kosher salt, one teaspoon of paprika, half a teaspoon of garlic powder, half a teaspoon of dried thyme, and about a quarter teaspoon of fresh cracked black pepper together to create the seasoning mix.
- Lightly coat the chicken breasts with about a tablespoon or so of all-purpose oil or avocado oil on both sides.
- Sprinkle the seasoning mix all over the chicken and rub it thoroughly over both sides.
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Place the seasoned chicken breasts in an oven safe baking dish.
- Bake for 18 to 25 minutes, depending on the size of your chicken breasts. Flip the chicken halfway through cooking.
- Remove the chicken from the oven when it reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit (it will carryover cook to 165 degrees).
- Let the cooked chicken rest before slicing.
