Grilled Flank Steak

  • 2 tablespoons Cracked black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Kosher salt
  • 2-3 cloves or 1 tablespoon Minced garlic cloves or garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Crushed red pepper
  • about 1 cup Worcestershire sauce

Steps

  1. Place the flank steak in a vacuum seal bag or zip lock bag, and pour the marinade ingredients over it.
  2. Mix the cracked black pepper, kosher salt, minced garlic (or garlic powder), crushed red pepper, and Worcestershire sauce thoroughly into the bag with the steak.
  3. Seal the bag and let the steak marinate in the refrigerator for at least six hours, or ideally overnight.
  4. Remove the steak from the marinade and allow it to come up to room temperature.
  5. Preheat a grill to high heat (400-600°F).
  6. Place the flank steak on the grill and sear each side for 2-5 minutes, depending on thickness and desired doneness.
  7. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure all sections of the steak reach at least 120°F (rare/medium rare internal temperature).
  8. Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for a minimum of 15 minutes before carving.
  9. Carve the flank steak diagonally against the grain.
