One Pot Ground Beef Pasta

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 1 lb (450 g) Ground beef
  • 1/2 medium Large onion or small onion
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp Italian herbs
  • 1/2 tsp (optional) Red pepper flakes or chili flakes
  • 3 1/2 cups (820 ml) Chicken stock or broth
  • 2 cups (250 g) Penne pasta or any pasta of your choice
  • 1 cup (240 ml) Heavy cream
  • as needed Grated mozzarella cheese
  • optional Parsley or chives

Steps

  1. Melt 1 tbsp of butter in a pan.
  2. Add the ground beef and fry for about 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned.
  3. Finely chop 1/2 of a large onion or 1 small onion. Add the chopped onion to the pan.
  4. Stir well and let it cook for a minute.
  5. Add 2 garlic cloves.
  6. Let the garlic fry for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
  7. Season with salt, black pepper, 1 tsp of Italian herbs, and 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes or chili flakes (optional).
  8. Pour in 3 1/2 cups (820 ml) chicken stock or broth. Bring to a boil.
  9. Add 2 cups (250 g) penne pasta or any pasta of your choice.
  10. Simmer for about 10 minutes, until the pasta is al dente.
  11. Pour in 1 cup (240 ml) of heavy cream and let it simmer for another minute, just until everything comes together in a rich, silky sauce.
  12. Turn off the heat and sprinkle over some grated mozzarella cheese, if using.
  13. Cover the pan for 1 minute to let it melt.
