Steps
- Turn the pan to medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of cooking oil.
- Add the chopped onion to the pan and sauté for about two minutes until softened.
- Add the ground beef (or ground turkey) to the pan, break it up into tiny pieces, and brown it.
- In a separate bowl or directly in the pan, mix 4 teaspoons of Better Than Bouillon with 4 cups of hot water to make broth. If using canned/boxed broth, use 4 cups as is.
- Stir in 1.5 teaspoons of minced garlic into the mixture.
- Add 3 tablespoons of butter and 3 tablespoons of flour to the pan. Cook for about two minutes, ensuring the raw flour taste is cooked out and it coats all the meat.
- Add a can of cream of celery soup (or mushroom soup), 4 cups of broth, generous pepper, and a pinch of salt to the pan.
- Mix all ingredients together, scraping the bottom of the pan to ensure no flavor bits are left behind.
- Bring the mixture up to a boil. Add 3 cups of extra wide noodles and stir them into the liquid until they are fully submerged.
- Place the lid on the pan and reduce heat to medium-low. Cook for about 8 to 10 minutes, checking periodically.
- Add 1 cup of sour cream to the mixture and stir well.
