Steps

  1. Turn the pan to medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of cooking oil.
  2. Add the chopped onion to the pan and sauté for about two minutes until softened.
  3. Add the ground beef (or ground turkey) to the pan, break it up into tiny pieces, and brown it.
  4. In a separate bowl or directly in the pan, mix 4 teaspoons of Better Than Bouillon with 4 cups of hot water to make broth. If using canned/boxed broth, use 4 cups as is.
  5. Stir in 1.5 teaspoons of minced garlic into the mixture.
  6. Add 3 tablespoons of butter and 3 tablespoons of flour to the pan. Cook for about two minutes, ensuring the raw flour taste is cooked out and it coats all the meat.
  7. Add a can of cream of celery soup (or mushroom soup), 4 cups of broth, generous pepper, and a pinch of salt to the pan.
  8. Mix all ingredients together, scraping the bottom of the pan to ensure no flavor bits are left behind.
  9. Bring the mixture up to a boil. Add 3 cups of extra wide noodles and stir them into the liquid until they are fully submerged.
  10. Place the lid on the pan and reduce heat to medium-low. Cook for about 8 to 10 minutes, checking periodically.
  11. Add 1 cup of sour cream to the mixture and stir well.
