- 4 lbs Pork shoulder roast (Boston butt)
- 1 large Navel orange
- 4 Garlic cloves
- 2-3 Bay leaves
- 1 cup to 1.5 cups Coca-Cola
- 1.5 - 2 teaspoons Salt (fine salt)

- Cut the pork shoulder roast into large chunks.
- Place all ingredients (pork, orange, garlic, bay leaves, Coca-Cola, and salt) into a slow cooker.
- Cover the slow cooker with a lid.
- Set the slow cooker to high heat.
- Cook for 5 to 5.5 hours, or until the pork is tender but still holds its shape.
- Remove the cooked carnitas from the slow cooker.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Fry the carnitas chunks until golden brown and crispy on the exterior (about 5-7 minutes).
- Serve with warm corn tortillas, fresh onion, cilantro, and creamy green salsa.
