Thai Prawn Garlic

  • 10 pieces Prawn
  • about half cup Garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon Oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ground pepper
  • optional Cilantro

Steps

  1. Using the back of a knife or cleaver, crush and then chop about half cup of garlic into small pieces.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over low heat. Add the chopped garlic to the pan.
  3. Stir constantly on low heat until the garlic turns golden brown. Remove from the stove once it starts turning brown (about 30 seconds).
  4. Drain the fried garlic and set aside.
  5. Turn the heat up to high. Add the prawns to the hot oil in the pan and cook them until done.
  6. Add the oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and ground pepper to the pan with the cooked prawns. Cook for a little while until the sauce is well combined.
  7. Transfer the cooked prawns and sauce onto a plate. Top with the fried garlic and garnish with cilantro.
