Classic Refried Beans

Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups Canned Pinto Beans (casserole)
- 2 strips Thick-cut Hickory and Mosquet Smoked Bacon
- about half of a J&B Salt Pork
- 2 teaspoons APC OG (Salt, Pepper, Garlic)
- 6 cups Water
- 2 cloves Garlic Cloves
- 1 tablespoon (for Stage 2) Lard or Butter
- As needed (for Stage 3) Additional Lard/Bacon Grease

Steps
- Place the pinto beans, water, and garlic cloves into a crock pot.
- Cut the bacon into small pieces and add it to the crock pot.
- Add about half of the J&B salt pork (cut up) to the crock pot.
- Stir in 2 teaspoons of APC OG (salt, pepper, garlic).
- Cover the crock pot and set it to high. Cook for approximately 4 to 5 hours, stirring every hour or so.
- Once cooked, turn off the heat and let the beans rest for 20 to 30 minutes.
