Crock Pot Mexican Frijoles

Ingredients

  • 1 Dried beans (4 lb bag)
  • as needed Aluminum foil
  • about 1/2 small onion or 1/4 big onion Salt
  • 2-3 Garlic cloves
  • to taste Chipotle powder
  • to taste Chicken bouillon

Steps

  1. Inspect the dried beans, removing any bad or rocky ones.
  2. Place all clean beans into a crock pot.
  3. Cover the beans with enough water to ensure they are not dry and will not burn.
  4. Cover the crock pot with aluminum foil.
  5. Cook on high for about one hour.
  6. After one hour, stir the beans. If still raw, cook for another hour.
  7. When almost done cooking, add salt and chicken bouillon to taste.
  8. Close the lid and check back in 30-45 minutes until ready to serve.
