Korean Beef Bulgogi

  • 1.5 pounds Beef stew meat
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame oil
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Ground ginger
  • 1/2 cup (plus more for garnish) Green onions
  • 4 Garlic cloves

Steps

  1. Turn on the Instant Pot and select the 'Saute' button.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of sesame oil to the pot.
  3. Once the oil heats up, add 1.5 pounds of beef stew meat to the pot.
  4. Add 1 cup of brown sugar to the pot.
  5. Cook for about five minutes, coating all the meats with the brown sugar and oil.
  6. Turn the Instant Pot off.
  7. Add 1/3 cup of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of ground ginger, 1/2 cup of chopped green onions, and minced garlic to the pot.
  8. Stir all ingredients well in the pot.
  9. Put the lid on the Instant Pot and turn it to 'Sealing'.
  10. Select 'Manual' mode and set the cooking time for 40 minutes.
  11. Allow the pressure to come up, then count down from 40 to zero.
  12. Let the pot naturally release for about ten minutes.
  13. After ten minutes of natural release, manually release the valve.
  14. Give the beef a final stir.
