One-Skillet Potato and Ground Beef Bake

Ingredients
- 14 oz Ground beef
- 2 Tbsp Butter
- 2 Tbsp Olive oil
- 1 Onion
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 4 Medium potatoes
- Half of the total amount (divided) Cream
- As needed Mozzarella cheese (or cheddar)
- To taste Salt
- To taste Black pepper
- To taste Paprika
- For garnish Fresh parsley

Steps
- Heat 1 Tbsp butter and 2 Tbsp olive oil in a skillet.
- Add the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 5–6 minutes until browned.
- In a separate pan or using some of the remaining fat, add 1 Tsp butter and finely chopped onion. Cook for 3–4 minutes until soft.
- Mince the garlic and add it to the beef mixture. Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Slice the potatoes thinly.
- Transfer the cooked ground beef and onions to a baking dish or skillet, spreading it out evenly.
- Layer sliced potatoes on top of the meat, slightly overlapping.
- Pour half of the cream over the potatoes. Sprinkle with half of the mozzarella cheese (or cheddar).
- Add another layer of sliced potatoes.
- Season with a little salt and paprika to taste.
- Pour in the remaining cream.
- Cover the skillet/dish and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30–40 minutes.
- Remove the cover, sprinkle with additional cheese, and return to the oven for 10 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley.
