Steps
- Place the pork chops in the bottom of the crock pot.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the can of cream of chicken soup and the package of pork gravy mix.
- Add 1 teaspoon of black pepper and 1 cup of chicken broth to the mixture.
- Whisk all ingredients together until the powder from the gravy mix is completely dissolved and incorporated.
- Pour the prepared sauce over the pork chops in the crock pot, ensuring you leave the lid on.
- Cook on low for approximately 4 to 5 hours (or according to recipe instructions of 6-8 hours on low/3-4 on high), checking with a meat thermometer until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F.
- Once cooked, switch the multi-cook device to the sauté or sear function.
- In a separate small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of corn starch with a little bit of water until fully dissolved (this is the slurry).
- Pour the cornstarch slurry into the crock pot and stir it into all the ingredients.
- Let the mixture cook on the sauté setting for a few minutes, stirring occasionally, until the gravy thickens to your desired consistency. If not using a multi-cook device, switch the slow cooker to high heat with the lid off and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes to thicken.
