- 1 1/2 cups rice
- 4 oz tomato sauce
- 3 cups plus 2 Tbsp water
- oil
- chicken bouillon
- tomato bouillon
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- ground cumin
- 1 chile serrano or jalapeno

Steps
- Heat enough oil to cover the bottom of the pan over medium-high heat.
- Add 1 1/2 cups rice and fry, stirring, for about 5 minutes until golden.
- Add 4 oz tomato sauce and mix.
- Add 3 cups plus 2 Tbsp water and season with tomato bouillon, chicken bouillon, garlic powder, onion powder, and ground cumin. Mix and bring to a simmer.
- Taste the broth and adjust seasoning.
- Add one whole chile serrano or jalapeno (optional).
- Reduce heat to lowest, cover, and cook for about 25 minutes until all liquid evaporates.
- Turn off heat and let rest 5-10 minutes.
- Fluff rice and serve.
