Steps
- Sauté the onion until softened.

- Add garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the browned meat mixture and cook until fully cooked.
- Stir in about one-third of the jar of pasta sauce until it coats all the meat.
- Break the lasagna noodles and nestle them into the meat mixture.
- Pour the rest of the pasta sauce over the noodles, adding 30 to half a cup of water from the jar to help cover everything.
- Cover the pan, reduce heat to medium-low, and let it simmer for about 20 minutes until the lasagna noodles are tender.
- In a separate bowl, flavor ricotta cheese with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and fresh basil or parsley if desired. Mix well.
- After about 25 minutes of simmering, dollop the seasoned ricotta over the top of the mixture.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the ricotta.
- Cover the pan again, keep on low heat, and let it finish cooking for about 5 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and let sit for a couple of minutes before serving.
