Slow Cooker Beef and Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Beef (chuck roast, flank steak, or sirloin)
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • a hair under 1/4 cup Avocado oil
  • 1/3 of a cup Soy sauce
  • about 1 tablespoon Oyster sauce or fish sauce
  • Several tablespoons (2-4 tbsp) Ginger (fresh)
  • 2 tablespoons Rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons Sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) Brown sugar
  • Little pinch Pepper
  • about 1 lb Broccoli florets

Steps

  1. Place the beef in the crockpot.
  2. Pour the water and cornstarch over the beef.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the avocado oil, soy sauce, oyster sauce or fish sauce, ginger, rice vinegar, sesame oil, brown sugar, and pepper to create the sauce.
  4. Pour the sauce over the meat in the crockpot.
  5. Cook on high for 3 hours until the beef is almost done.
  6. Steam about a pound of broccoli florets separately.
  7. Mix the steamed broccoli with the beef and sauce in the crockpot.
  8. Serve over rice.
