Steps
- Start by making the spicy sauce: combine gochugaru chili flakes, mirin, soy sauce, garlic (2 cloves), sugar, and gochujang in a bowl.
- In your pot, create loose pockets of ingredients. Add slices of spam and 'Cheerios' sausages (or other mystery meat frankfurters).
- Add firm tofu cubes to the pot.
- Add kimchi, shiitake mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, and wood ear mushrooms.
- Add baked beans to the pot.
- Break ramen noodles into pieces and add them to the pot.
- Crack an egg into the pot.
- Carefully pour in about three cups of stock (or more, depending on pan size).
- Place a mound of the prepared spicy sauce in the middle of the pot.
- Turn the heat on. Once the soup starts to bubble, add a tiny bit more stock if needed because the noodles have soaked up liquid.
- Cover the pot and turn the heat down to low. Let it simmer for five minutes or until the egg is cooked and the noodles are tender.
- Garnish with spring onions.
- Turn off the heat, then lay cheese on top of the stew.
