Steps
- Cut the Hawaiian rolls in half.
- In a pan, flatten out the sausage to cover the shape of the pan and cook until browned and cooked through (about 10 minutes at 375°F).
- Generously grease another pan. Crack eight eggs into the pan; aim for an over-hard consistency.
- Use a knife to break up the yolks so they spread out, creating little bites of white yolk.
- Pour in a little heavy cream around the eggs and bake them until cooked through (about 10 minutes).
- Season the eggs with salt and pepper. Start cooking the eggs when the sausage is about halfway done.
- While the eggs cook, prepare the Cowboy Butter: Melt half a stick of salted butter in a small dish or pan.
- Add garlic cloves to the melted butter, then stir in chili powder, smoked paprika, crushed red pepper, salt, pepper, parsley, Dijon mustard, and lemon zest.
- Once the sausage is done, crank up the broiler to finish it off.
- Use a spatula to loosen the edges of the cooked eggs.
- Remove the pan from the heat. Add green onions and pepper jack cheese to the top of each egg/sausage stack.
- Top with the Cowboy Butter mixture.
- Place the assembled sliders on a baking sheet and bake until the buns are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
