Steps
- Combine soy sauce, barbecue sauce, real maple syrup, sesame oil, fresh garlic cloves, and grated ginger in a bowl to make the sauce.
- Set aside the prepared sauce and prep your vegetables: thinly slice mushrooms, cut zucchini into half circles, and julienne or matchstick-cut the carrot.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat with a little oil.
- Add the ground beef to the hot skillet. Break it up with a spatula as it cooks and sauté for about five minutes until fully cooked through and lightly browned.
- Transfer the cooked ground beef to a separate dish, keeping any reserved oil in the skillet. If needed, add a little olive oil to the skillet.
- Add all of your prepared vegetables (mushrooms, zucchini, carrot) to the skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sauté for about two to three minutes, stirring frequently until the veggies are about halfway cooked through, ensuring they do not become mushy.
- Return the cooked ground beef to the skillet along with all of your prepared sauce.
- Stir everything together and continue cooking for another two minutes, or until everything is fragrant.
