Hot Honey Chicken Drumsticks

  • 10 chicken drumsticks
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Make the hot honey sauce: combine 3 tablespoons honey, 2 tablespoons hot sauce, and 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice in a small bowl; stir and set aside.
  3. Make the dry rub: combine 1 teaspoon kosher salt, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, and 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper.
  4. Add 10 chicken drumsticks to a large mixing bowl and coat with the dry rub.
  5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper; arrange drumsticks on the sheet.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes to seal in the dry rub.
  7. Brush drumsticks with hot honey sauce; bake for another 10 minutes.
  8. Brush with another round of sauce; bake for another 10 minutes.
  9. Brush with remaining sauce; bake for a final 3-5 minutes until internal temperature reaches 175°F.
  10. Optional: broil for 1-2 minutes to crisp the skin.
  11. Rest briefly, then garnish with fresh lime slices and serve.
